Amazon Aug. 1 reported second quarter (ended June 30) subscription services revenue of $10.86 billion, which was up 10% from subscription revenue of $9.89 billion in the previous-year period.

Subscription services includes annual and monthly fees associated with Prime memberships, as well as revenue from digital video (movies, TV shows), audiobooks, digital music, e-books, and other non-AWS subscription services.

In the quarter, the ecommerce behemoth released 19 movies and TV series from Amazon MGM Studios, including “Fallout,” the second most-watched original title worldwide ever on Prime Video during its launch.

Season four of “The Boys” reached No. 1 on Prime Video in more than 165 countries in its first two weeks. The romance The Idea of You generated around 50 million viewers in its first two weeks on Prime Video.

Prime Video Earned 62 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, including 17 for “Fallout” and 16 for “Mr. and Mrs. Smith.”

The streamer secured expansive streaming rights for the NBA for 11 seasons, starting in 2025-26, and the platform became the exclusive home of Monday Night National Hockey League games in Canada.
