Max Launches New Bundle with Educational Subscription Service Chegg

More bundles are always a good thing, and now students who use the learning platform Chegg can watch Max content at no extra cost.

Chegg subscribers get free access to a Max with Ads subscription thanks to a new partnership.

Max is trying to get in on every bundle it can. The service joined a combo with Disney+ and Hulu earlier this summer, and will also be available to combine with the Venu Sports streaming service when that platform launches this fall. This week, Max announced that it was joining yet another bundle, this time with the subscription learning service Chegg, bringing students access to thousands of hours of premium programming.

Key Details:

  • Max with Ads is now available with a Chegg Study or Chegg Study Pack subscription.
  • The inclusion of Max is a $9.99 monthly value that Chegg subscribers will enjoy at no extra cost.
  • Max with Ads comes with a myriad of entertainment options, as well as live news and sports.

The new offer from Chegg and Max is valid for all owners of a Chegg Study or Chegg Study Pack subscription who are 18 years of age or older, and reside in the United States. Chegg Study costs $14.95 per month, and includes homework help via Textbook Solutions, as well as the ability to ask questions from experts in particular fields to take your knowledge to the next level.

The Chegg Study Pack runs $19.95 per month, and includes unlimited access to archived expert answers, as well as Chegg Math Solver, Chegg Writing and Chegg Practice. Students praise Chegg as a reliable study aid that can really help unlock sticky problems, and now it has the added benefit of a free Max subscription.

The inclusion of Max in the Chegg Study or Chegg Study Pack is free. It’s a $9.99 per month value that students will get to enjoy for the entire 2024-25 school year.

“We are thrilled to partner with Chegg to provide students with access to great entertainment through the worlds and characters on Max,” said Pato Spagnoletto, Global Chief Marketing Officer of DTC at Warner Bros. Discovery. “This collaboration allows us to connect with students in a different way, while introducing them to our can’t-miss shows and movies that their friends will be talking about.”

What Will You Be Able to Watch with Max?

Max offers a huge lineup of shows and movies, as well as live sports and news options.

Chegg subscribers who are excited for their new Max benefit but unsure of what they can enjoy on the streamer will quickly come to love it. Max is the home of all things HBO, which means premium titles like “House of the Dragon,” “Euphoria” and the upcoming limited series “The Penguin” are all available on-demand. That’s before even getting into fan-favorite shows like “Friends” or “Rick and Morty,” which are also available.

Max also offers live news and sports options. The CNN Max hub carries a wide range of programming from CNN, including “Amanpour,” “Anderson Cooper 360,” “The Lead with Jake Tapper,” “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer” and other titles. For students who want to keep track of all the latest election news this fall, Max will provide extensive coverage.

Max also has the Bleacher Report Sports add-on available, which viewers can watch at no extra charge for now. The B/R add-on comes with live sports from TNT, TBS and truTV, which means fans can stream MLB, NBA and NHL games this fall, as well as games from the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament in March, along with U.S. Soccer matches, College Football Playoff games and more.

The Streaming Wars is intentionally ad-free

We don’t run display ads. Not because we can’t, but because we don’t believe in them.

They interrupt the reading experience. They cheapen the work. And they burn advertisers’ money on impressions nobody actually wants.

So we chose a different model.

We say the things people in this industry are already thinking but don’t say out loud. We connect the dots beyond the headline and focus on explaining why things matter to the people working in this business.

If you believe industry coverage can exist without clutter and interruption, you can support it here → SUPPORT TSW.

Support is optional. But it directly funds research and continued coverage — and helps prove this model can work.
