Will the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup be a success? Headline after headline can be found regarding plummeting ticket prices for the event, but that isn’t dissuading the sports streaming service DAZN — which is streaming all matches from the Club World Cup for free this year — from doubling down on adding more soccer content via the FIFA+ platform.
Key Details:
- More soccer: DAZN has announced it will launch a new FIFA+ viewing option for its global subscribers.
- Live soccer too: FIFA+ offers historical archives, original content, and live matches as well.
- The big score: DAZN also rolled out a new Scores feature for soccer fans in recent weeks.
The new strategic partnership between DAZN and FIFA+ will allow the sports streaming platform to distribute the soccer service to fans around the world. Viewers will be able to watch FIFA+ content directly through DAZN via a digital channel to be known as “The Home of Football.”
When viewers tune into that channel, they’ll be able to watch select live matches that are found on the FIFA+ platform. In addition, they’ll see historic archives, original documentaries, and other exclusive soccer-themed content that FIFA+ delivers.
“This partnership with FIFA cements DAZN’s role as the ultimate digital destination for football, allowing fans everywhere to access a vast, premium football content library,” CEO of DAZN Group Shay Segev said. “Together with FIFA’s brand and reach, we will deliver an unmatched entertainment experience, supporting FIFA’s vision of expanding the game’s global footprint and engaging new audiences.”
DAZN continues to add soccer content and features that allow fans of the sport to immerse themselves more fully in it. In April, the streamer announced the launch of its new Scores feature, which allows fans to compile their own list of teams to follow from around the world, getting real-time notifications about matches starting, goals scored, and more. Now, lovers of the beautiful game will be able to enjoy FIFA+ on the service as well.
“At FIFA, we are proud to always be looking towards the future, looking at how to innovate, with the specific aim of protecting and nurturing the growth of our game for the generations ahead,” Secretary General of FIFA Mattias Grafström said. “This partnership with DAZN aligns exactly with that objective. Their vision is global, as is ours, and we look forward to furthering our collaboration with them through FIFA+ as the ‘Home of Football’.”
