DAZN has expanded its collaboration with media technology firm LTN to strengthen its position in the betting market. This partnership will enable DAZN to deliver live coverage of major international football competitions to betting audiences and commercial platforms across Germany.
Using LTN’s automated linear channel creation and playout technologies, DAZN now operates 11 low-latency live streaming channels across 1,000 betting locations and on Amazon Prime Video. To enhance high-concurrency matchdays, DAZN is also launching a pop-up linear channel this winter, offering up to eight concurrent streams to key partners such as Tipico and Bet3000.
Driving Growth Through Technology
LTN’s scalable solutions, including its multicast global IP network, underpin DAZN’s ability to manage complex operations like residential and commercial rights agreements, blackout restrictions, and low-latency delivery. The LTN Lift and LTN Schedule tools automate the creation of linear channels, allowing DAZN to expand coverage while maintaining operational simplicity flexibly.
Chris Myers, LTN EVP, and Chief Revenue Officer, highlighted the importance of the partnership, saying: “Our unique partnership helps DAZN cost-efficiently scale its business with an ultra-flexible, easy-to-operate system that brings the biggest live events to fast-growing audiences with low latency transmission. We’re proud to support DAZN’s journey as it expands across new markets and drives global viewership.”
Reinforcing DAZN’s German Strategy
Germany remains a critical market for DAZN, supported by its role as a media partner for the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2. The LTN deal complements DAZN’s other regional initiatives, including its DAZN Bet sportsbook and long-standing relationships with key broadcasters and leagues.
In a related context, DAZN’s recent $1 billion agreement with FIFA to stream the 2025 Club World Cup demonstrates its ambition to scale globally and engage broader audiences. While the FIFA deal faced challenges with broadcaster interest and criticism from European clubs, it underscores DAZN’s commitment to expanding its content offerings and audience reach.
A Foundation for Future Growth
Bernd Brunner, DAZN Head of Linear Channel, praised the role of LTN in meeting the demanding requirements of sports streaming for betting audiences. “In-play wagering involves incredibly demanding streaming requirements — fans enjoying the game from their local betting shops need to know their stream is as close to real-time as possible,” said Brunner. “LTN enables low latency from ingest to playout and distribution, helping us increase value and reach more audiences with exceptional sports content.”
The Streaming Wars is intentionally ad-free
We don’t run display ads. Not because we can’t, but because we don’t believe in them.
They interrupt the reading experience. They cheapen the work. And they burn advertisers’ money on impressions nobody actually wants.
So we chose a different model.
We say the things people in this industry are already thinking but don’t say out loud. We connect the dots beyond the headline and focus on explaining why things matter to the people working in this business.
If you believe industry coverage can exist without clutter and interruption, you can support it here → SUPPORT TSW.
Support is optional. But it directly funds research and continued coverage — and helps prove this model can work.
