Smart TV maker LG has debuted a new content hub on its free streaming TV service that curates live national and local news streams from a handful of providers.
Starting this week, users of LG’s WebOS-powered smart TVs can watch dozens of local and national news streams through the free, ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) platform LG Channels via the dedicated News Hub.
The News Hub offers FASTchannels like CNN Headlines, LiveNow from Fox, NBC News Now, Scripps News, ABC News Live, Fox Weather and others. Local content streams are available from Allen Media Group, the E. W. Scripps Company, Sinclair, Fox Television Stations and other TV broadcasters.
LG says news is among the top content streamed through LG Channels, with the company logging a 66 percent increase in unique devices watching news content this year compared to 2023.
The News Hub is accessible on LG smart TVs by pressing the dedicated LG Channels button or by visiting the LG Channels content tile on the TV’s home screen.

The Streaming Wars is intentionally ad-free
We don’t run display ads. Not because we can’t, but because we don’t believe in them.
They interrupt the reading experience. They cheapen the work. And they burn advertisers’ money on impressions nobody actually wants.
So we chose a different model.
We say the things people in this industry are already thinking but don’t say out loud. We connect the dots beyond the headline and focus on explaining why things matter to the people working in this business.
If you believe industry coverage can exist without clutter and interruption, you can support it here → SUPPORT TSW.
Support is optional. But it directly funds research and continued coverage — and helps prove this model can work.
