Ahead of the Dec. 26 launch of the second season of “Squid Game,” arguably Netflix’s most-anticipated content bow ever, the streamer has assembled a global portfolio of advertisers and marketers to help drive brand awareness.
Netflix is partnering with Burger King, Domino’s, Google, Doritos, Duolingo, Johnnie Walker, WhatsApp, Bibigo, and Xbox, among other brands, in addition to launching Squid Game-inspired “Kaws Young-Hee” Collectables, Puma Track Suit Collection, Crocs footwear and VandyThePink custom apparel.
Separately, the “Squid Game: The Experience” is now open in New York City, Sydney, and coming to Seoul in 2025.
“Our goal is to build partnerships that bring even more member joy in fun, surprising, and delightful ways,” Magno Herran, VP of brand and partner marketing at Netflix, said in a statement.
Herran said the streamer is offering third-party marketers the ability to become a part of the global “Squid Game” story alongside the show’s worldwide fandoms.
Indeed, “Squid Game” has generated a record 330 million viewers, and 2.8 billion hours streamed, since its launch on Sept. 17, 2021. Other top-streamed shows include “Stranger Things Season 4” with 1.84 billion hours; “Wednesday” Season 1 with 1.72 billion hours and 252.1 million views; and “Dahmer: Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” with 1 billion hours streamed.

The Streaming Wars is intentionally ad-free
We don’t run display ads. Not because we can’t, but because we don’t believe in them.
They interrupt the reading experience. They cheapen the work. And they burn advertisers’ money on impressions nobody actually wants.
So we chose a different model.
We say the things people in this industry are already thinking but don’t say out loud. We connect the dots beyond the headline and focus on explaining why things matter to the people working in this business.
If you believe industry coverage can exist without clutter and interruption, you can support it here → SUPPORT TSW.
Support is optional. But it directly funds research and continued coverage — and helps prove this model can work.
