Backed by the the Milan Cortina Olympics, Super Bowl LX and FIFA World Cup in 2026, NBCUniversal announced that its Peacock streaming platform generated its highest-ever upfront advertising commitments.
In a statement, NBCUniversal said the streamer has seen consistent year-over-year growth, driving ad revenue up 20% year-over-year, and now representing nearly 33% of NBCUniversal’s total upfront advertising commitments into 2026.
NBCU says client demand for Peacock’s ad performance has propelled “strength” in its overall digital footprint, leading to the company’s largest digital ad sales upfront in history.
“This year, we went to the market earlier than ever to strategically align our powerful content slate with our clients’ goals,” Mark Marshall, chairman, global advertising and partnerships, NBCUniversal, said in a statement. “In a year set to redefine industry benchmarks, ad-supported reach remains the most influential force in media. With a cross-platform strategy supercharged by cutting-edge technology, we’re proud to engage 286 million people monthly – setting a new standard and delivering the most successful [advertising] upfront in our company’s history.”
Peacock is live-streaming the FIFA World Cup through NBCU’s Spanish-language Telemundo and Universo networks June 11 to July 19, 2026.
Peacock ended the most-recent fiscal period (March 31) with 41 million paid subscribers and revenue of $1.2 billion.
The Streaming Wars is intentionally ad-free
We don’t run display ads. Not because we can’t, but because we don’t believe in them.
They interrupt the reading experience. They cheapen the work. And they burn advertisers’ money on impressions nobody actually wants.
So we chose a different model.
We say the things people in this industry are already thinking but don’t say out loud. We connect the dots beyond the headline and focus on explaining why things matter to the people working in this business.

Support is optional. But it directly funds research and continued coverage — and helps prove this model can work.
