Lights Out Sports TV, the sports streaming service founded by former NFL linebacker Shawne Merriman, has partnered with CreateAds.tv to allow brands to advertise directly on the popular platform, which has racked up 37 million monthly impressions.

CreateAds gives smaller businesses and entrepreneurs access to premium TV advertising inventory.

Merriman’s Lights Out Sports TV is available on Roku, Vizio, Amazon Fire TV, and other platforms. The service hosts exclusive content, including live sports events and athlete interviews.

“We’ve built something special with Lights Out Sports TV,” Merriman, a three-time All-Pro NFL linebacker, said in a statement. “We’re connecting with millions of fans every month who are deeply passionate about sports. Now, with CreateAds.tv, businesses of all sizes can get right in the middle of the action, whether they want to reach their local market or tap into a global audience. This partnership is all about making TV advertising accessible and easy.”

With CreateAds.tv, businesses and agencies can launch unlimited self-managed ad campaigns, set their own budgets, add video QR codes to make ads actionable, gain access to detailed performance tracking, and manage multiple advertisers with one account.

“We wanted to simplify the process of advertising on streaming TV, and that’s exactly what CreateAds.tv delivers,” Tahirah Banks-Webster, CEO of Thoughtful Agency, one of the companies behind CreateAds.tv, said in a statement. “With millions of monthly impressions on Lights Out Sports TV and the ability to launch campaigns in minutes, we’re giving brands a fast and affordable way to capture attention. We’re incredibly proud to partner with Shawne and his team on this.”

The Streaming Wars is intentionally ad-free

We don’t run display ads. Not because we can’t, but because we don’t believe in them.

They interrupt the reading experience. They cheapen the work. And they burn advertisers’ money on impressions nobody actually wants.

So we chose a different model.

We say the things people in this industry are already thinking but don’t say out loud. We connect the dots beyond the headline and focus on explaining why things matter to the people working in this business.

If you believe industry coverage can exist without clutter and interruption, you can support it here → SUPPORT TSW.

Support is optional. But it directly funds research and continued coverage — and helps prove this model can work.
