Banijay and RedBird IMI’s All3Media have agreed to merge their production businesses in a deal that will form one of the largest independent television production groups globally. The combined entity will operate under the Banijay name, with each side holding a 50% stake. The transaction is expected to close in the fall pending regulatory approval.
The merger brings together two extensive global production networks and a massive catalog of intellectual property. The combined company will control more than 260,000 hours of multi-genre content spanning unscripted formats, scripted television, documentaries and films. Company leadership expects the integration to deliver approximately €50 million in cost savings within the first year after closing.
Banijay Entertainment enters the deal with a portfolio of more than 130 production companies operating across multiple territories. The company produces over 17,000 hours of programming annually and stages roughly 15,000 live events worldwide. Its labels include Endemol Shine, Bunim/Murray, Mastiff, Groenlandia, 51 Minds, Dragonfly, Initial, Tiger Aspect, Shine TV, Remarkable, The Forge, Truly Original and Zeppotron.
All3Media adds another major production network with more than 50 labels across the UK, Europe and the United States. The company’s portfolio includes Studio Lambert, Raw, Two Brothers Pictures, Silverback Films, New Pictures and Neal Street Productions. These studios have developed a broad slate of premium scripted dramas, documentaries and unscripted formats that travel across international markets.
Together the companies bring a deep library of globally recognized franchises under a single corporate structure. The combined catalog includes entertainment formats such as “Big Brother,” “Survivor,” “The Traitors,” and “Gogglebox,” alongside scripted titles including “Peaky Blinders.” Film projects in development or production include “House of Guinness” and “Hamnet.” Across the portfolio, roughly 45 formats are currently produced in more than three territories.
Following the closing of the transaction, the combined production operation will be consolidated under Banijay Group’s financial reporting structure. The companies plan to maintain their existing label ecosystem, allowing individual studios to continue operating with creative autonomy while aligning corporate infrastructure, distribution and operational functions.
The Streaming Wars Take
The global production market is entering a scale phase.
Streaming services and international broadcasters increasingly commission franchises that can move across territories and sustain multiple seasons. Production companies that control large libraries, format rights and global studio networks hold stronger negotiating leverage in that environment.
Banijay already built one of the largest independent production businesses through acquisitions such as Endemol Shine. The addition of All3Media expands the company’s scripted pipeline and adds dozens of additional production labels across key markets.
The combined group now controls a massive catalog of format IP alongside a deep roster of producers capable of supplying content to global streaming services, broadcasters and regional partners simultaneously. That scale positions Banijay as one of the most powerful independent suppliers in the international television market as consolidation continues across the production sector.
The Streaming Wars is intentionally ad-free
We don’t run display ads. Not because we can’t, but because we don’t believe in them.
They interrupt the reading experience. They cheapen the work. And they burn advertisers’ money on impressions nobody actually wants.
So we chose a different model.
We say the things people in this industry are already thinking but don’t say out loud. We connect the dots beyond the headline and focus on explaining why things matter to the people working in this business.
