Starz Joins Forces With YouTube to Offer Free 30-Day Access to Subscribers

Starz and YouTube have expanded their partnership with a first-of-its-kind promotion, giving YouTube TV and YouTube Primetime Channels subscribers 30 days of free access to Starz’s premium content. The offer, available to both new and existing customers, runs through April and coincides with major televised events, including the Super Bowl, NBA All-Star Weekend, March Madness, and the Academy Awards.

This collaboration is part of a multi-year agreement between Starz and YouTube, reinforcing the network’s commitment to expanding its reach ahead of its separation from Lionsgate. “As Starz continues to adapt to the needs of our customers in this rapidly changing digital landscape, strategic partnerships, like this one with YouTube TV, allow us to expand our reach by introducing our premium content to new audiences,” said Alison Hoffman, president of Starz Networks. “We are excited to have YouTube’s support to ensure their customers see the value of this offer just in time for the Super Bowl. This promotion further highlights the strength of the Starz brand as a complementary service.”

Subscribers taking advantage of this promotion will gain access to a vast library of original Starz programming, including the fourth season of Power Book III: Raising Kanan, the psychological thriller The Couple Next Door, and all seven seasons of Outlander. In addition to Starz’s exclusive series, users can stream blockbuster films such as John Wick: Chapter 4, Borderlands, and Spiderman: No Way Home.

YouTube TV, which boasts over 8 million subscribers, provides access to more than 100 live and on-demand channels, including local and national sports, breaking news, and entertainment. It also offers advanced features such as unlimited cloud DVR storage, multiview capabilities, real-time sports stats, and the ability to hide spoilers. YouTube Primetime Channels, on the other hand, allows users to browse, subscribe to, and watch content from over 45 streaming services—all within the YouTube app—eliminating the need to switch between multiple apps.

This latest Starz-YouTube collaboration aligns with Starz’s broader strategy of forming strategic partnerships to enhance its distribution model. Alongside YouTube, Starz has also introduced bundles with BET+ and Max on Prime Video and a package with AMC+ through Vizio, reinforcing its position as a key player in the evolving streaming landscape.

The Streaming Wars is intentionally ad-free

We don’t run display ads. Not because we can’t, but because we don’t believe in them.

They interrupt the reading experience. They cheapen the work. And they burn advertisers’ money on impressions nobody actually wants.

So we chose a different model.

We say the things people in this industry are already thinking but don’t say out loud. We connect the dots beyond the headline and focus on explaining why things matter to the people working in this business.

If you believe industry coverage can exist without clutter and interruption, you can support it here → SUPPORT TSW.

Support is optional. But it directly funds research and continued coverage — and helps prove this model can work.
