Victory+ Teams Up with Amagi for 60 New Channels, Strengthening Regional Sports and Ad-Supported Streaming

Graphic: 43Twenty

Amagi, a provider of cloud-based SaaS technology for connected TV, has announced a strategic partnership with A Parent Media Co. Inc. (APMC) to enhance content offerings on its streaming platform, Victory+. This collaboration introduces over 60 new FAST channels on Victory+, powered by Amagi’s tech and monetized through Amagi ADS PLUS. These new channels, slated for release by fall 2024, aim to expand Victory+’s programming for fans, giving viewers more content to enjoy between Victory+’s key sports offerings.

The Amagi-Victory+ partnership is particularly timely following Victory+’s recent announcement of live and free regional broadcasts of the Dallas Stars and Anaheim Ducks games, starting in the 2024-25 NHL season. As highlighted in our recent interview with Narendra Nag, Chief Strategy Officer at APMC, Victory+ has set out an ambitious path to redefine regional sports streaming by merging accessibility with premium content. Nag emphasized Victory+’s mission to bring high-quality sports content to millions of households, and this collaboration with Amagi plays directly into that vision, amplifying both content variety and audience engagement.

Enhancing Viewing Experience and Monetization

Amagi’s ADS PLUS solution brings a distinct advantage to Victory+, merging content delivery with advertising tech designed to boost transparency and effectiveness. James Smith, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Amagi ADS PLUS, commented on the partnership’s alignment with Amagi’s strengths in creating and distributing premium content while maximizing ad revenue. Smith emphasized that Amagi’s tech will allow Victory+ to deliver a seamless viewer experience and leverage metadata insights from Amagi’s SSAI and playout products, allowing advertisers more refined targeting options across Victory+’s expanding sports and entertainment catalog.

With its lineup of more than 60 new channels, Amagi is positioning Victory+ to deepen engagement by offering diverse content, encouraging viewers to spend more time on the platform before, after, and between live sports broadcasts. For brands, this presents new opportunities for next-generation ad performance, with Amagi ADS PLUS enabling contextual targeting and dynamic ad formats that meet the high standards of today’s advertisers.

Victory+ and Amagi: A Growing Synergy in Streaming Technology

In our earlier feature on Victory+, Narendra Nag outlined the strategic focus on sports streaming while underscoring the platform’s commitment to ad-supported free streaming. This latest deal with Amagi is a testament to Victory+’s commitment to scalable content growth and to offering a viewing experience that is both expansive and well-monetized. Amagi’s established relationships with over 100 premium CTV publishers further enhance this partnership, bringing an array of capabilities that Victory+ can leverage as it continues to build its audience and expand into regional sports markets.

Amagi’s client roster, which includes global media brands like A+E Networks UK, Cox Media Group, NBCUniversal, and VIZIO, underscores its content monetization and distribution track record. For Victory+, this partnership is an opportunity to tap into Amagi’s comprehensive suite of technology solutions, aligning with its broader goals of merging premium live sports with expansive content variety, all while keeping the service free and ad-supported for viewers.
